BTCL (268k) and Chobe (245k) were the drivers of the total market turnover again today in a rather uneventful day.
Safcom (+1.05%, KES24.00) leading the way on the Nairobi bourse today with almost a third of the market amounting to $2.95m. Other counters worth noting were Kenol (+0.34%, KES14.95), KCB (unch, KES39.50) and Equity (-0.61%, KES22.25). Once again foreign investors out played the locals with 63.4% of the market sales.
Indices closed on the downside again with the Semdex losing 0.24%. Turnover was relatively high driven by Alteo, MCBG and NMH which altogether contributed to 49.0% of total turnover. A significant cross went through in Alteo (unch , Rs34.55) among which 499.3k shares were foreign sales. MCBG closed slightly higher at (+0.1%, Rs265.25).
Things slowed down rather drastically in Lagos today with some small activity in GTB (+0.03&, $2.6m), Zenith (+1.42%, $2.0m) and NB (+0.06%, $1.9m) the only names worth mentioning. Banking stocks continued to impress with the sector closing +0.49% higher. Consumers (+1.63%) closed the day higher thanks to NB (+2.54%).

Things slowed down on Harare bourse today with some small activity in Delta (127.25c, $110k), PPC (71.00c, $255k) and Seedco (145.00c, $152k) the only names worth mentioning, but nothing worth writing home about.
