Kenya: NSE 20 -0.55%, USD 20.5m

Another large cross in Equity Bank dominated the session in Nairobi. Outside of this cross the bulk of the day was generally quiet with the exception on KNCB. KNCB closed down 1.1% at KES46.00. Safcom (-70bps, KES15.00) and EABL (-1.3%, KES295) were both soft although volumes in these names were generally muted.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.38%, USD 1.08m

Another quiet day in Mauritius although MCBG did see some mild action. The banking group closed at Rs215.00 (-70bps).

Nigeria: ASI +0.44%, USD 24.7m

Crosses in myriad names were the name of the game today in Lagos. Banks fell by 40bps with performance in the sector markedly mixed. The main action took place in Zenith (-2.53%, N15.40), GTB (unch, N22.00) and Access (+9.84%, N4.69). The consumers gained an impressive 2.08% with Nestle (+9.52%, N965.98) yet again well bid. NB also saw some action although the brewer fell by 1.62% to N120.02. There was also a chunky cross in Wapco at N99.50 (-52bps).

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.77%, USD 2.93m

A chunky cross in Delta (local seller, foreign buyer) on the open at 84c was the highlight of the day in Harare. The name eventually closed at 85c while there was also some action in Econet (28c) and Innscor (60c).
