Not a bad way to end the week in Gaborone with FNBB (2.35t, $1.86m) being over 90% of total market turnover. The only other counter worth noting is BTCL (1.47t, $150k).
A slight improvement on the Kenya stock exchange today as Safaricom(+4.95%, KES26.50) announcing an amendment in the book closure date from 1 September 2017 to 15 September 2017, Bamburi (-4.02%, KES191.00) and KCB (+0.55%, KES45.50). We saw red flash across a lot of the board with foreign selling accounting 58.8% and buying up slightly from the previous day’s trading to 32.8%.
Semdex closed the week in the red as MUA and MCBG accounted for 69% of total turnover. MCBG reached an intra-day high of Rs268.75 but closed unchanged at Rs268.50 on 65.4k shares exchanged. SBMH traded flat at Rs7.86 and saw a total of 567.3k shares traded.
The market closed higher on lower volumes as the Consumers (+0.86%) tilted the index onto the positive region on the back of names like Intbrew (+7.25%), Flourmill (+4.98%), and Dangsugar (+4.60%). All other indices were down.

The main highlight in Dar today was VODA which accounted for 55% of turnover with 125k shares exchanging hands.
An average day to end the week in Harare with some action in an unusual name CFI (+3.4%, 65.15c) on the back of 546k shares traded. The Industrial Index continued with the upsurge supported by gains in Afdis, Econet, Innscor, Old mutual and ZBFH.
