The main highlights yet again in Kenya was some chunky crossing in Safcom. The Telco closed unchanged at KES23.00. There was also chunky trading in Equity Bank (+67bps, KES37.50) and COOP Bank (+36bps, KES14.00).
Yet again MCBG provided the impetus for both direction and market turnover. The banking group rose by another 1.1% to Rs277.00 and accounted for almost half the total market turnover.

Volumes remain extremely robust on the ZSE with locals still the major part of this. The index closed marginally in the green today with turnover dominated by Delta ($1.2725) and to a lesser extent Econet (36.85c) and Old Mutual ($3.93).
