Activity was heavily focused on local trading in the normally extremely illiquid Letlole. The rest of the market was dead.
Foreign crosses in Equity Bank (unch, KES36.75) and EABL (-1.9%, KES260) were the only pieces of action in today's session in Nairobi. The rest of the market was dull.
Some chunky action in MCBG (+10bps, Rs207.25) once again heavily dominated trading on the Mauritian bourse. The rest of the market was quiet.
It was a hopeless end to a hopeless week in Nigeria as the index just continues to fall on small volumes. The index fell by 1.21% with Banks (-39bps) once again a big drag although Dangcem (-4.27%, N179.50) was also a big contributor to the fall, albeit on tiny volumes. In the banks we at least saw some decent volumes in Zenith (+46bps, N15.37) and GTB (+14bps, N21.03). Consumers (+1.18%) actually had another solid day although volumes in the sector remain light.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another decent day to end the week in Harare thanks to some action in Delta ($1.1m) while there was also so activity in Seedco ($342k).
