A quiet day in Botswana.
Another woeful day on the activity front in Nairobi with crosses in EABL ($948k) and KNCB ($825k) the only names showing any form of life. Safcom was weaker on the day with the telco closing -0.6% lower at KES 16.80 on low volume.
Nothing really exciting to report from Port Louis today. Almost the entire trading turnover (>80%) went through in MCBG with the banking group closing unchanged at Rs226.25.
A slow start to the week in Lagos with NB ($1.1m) and Zenith ($1.1m) the only names worth mentioning from an activity point of view. Banking stocks closed the day +0.20% higher thanks to Zenith (+1.05%) and GTB (+0.81%). Consumers (+2.13%) were also stronger thanks to a great performance from Nestle (+9.96%) while NB (+0.89%) was also stronger.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Interest for ZSE trading remains incredibly muted while sentiment remains soft. Today we saw some action in Simbisa (16.5c) while Econet continues to tumble (13c).
