A quiet session in Botswana.
Early today we saw Safcom release their 1H17 results. The telco was also by far the most heavily traded stock on the NSE as it accounted for almost 70% of the total turnover although the bulk of this was local. Safcom closed unchanged at KES21.25 with most other names extremely quiet.
Nothing very exciting to report on from Mauritius today. About half of the total turnover took place in MCBG (+1.6%, Rs218.00).
A pathetic end to a pathetic week in Nigeria as interest levels continue to wane. Banks slipped by 2.20% while consumers actually ended the day higher (+41bps). However, as is always the case in such thinly traded markets, there was no direction or sentiment in either direction today. The only stock that saw a modicum of trading was Zenith Bank which closed down 1.99% at N14.80.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A rather uneventful end to the week in Harare. There was some mild trades in Delta (73c) and Seedco (82c).
