Nothing to report from Gaborone.
It was another rather uneventful day in Nairobi. The day started brightly enough with a decent cross in Equity Bank (+1.6%, KES31.75) although from then on the day ebbed by slowly with the exception of Safcom (-2.4%, KES20.25) which also saw some decent action. The rest of the market was quiet.
An average day in Port Louis with MCBG once again driving proceedings as 67k shares changed hands in the name while the rest of the market was quiet.
From bad to worse as volumes and the lack of interest just gets worse. The index slipped by 72bps on the back of weakness in both Banks (-3.20%) and Consumers (-39bps). The only activity we saw today took place in GTB (-3.50%, N20.65) as all banks closed the day well in the red.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some activity in Delta ($538k) the only name worth mentioning on a rather dull day in Harare. Delta released H1 2017 numbers after the close.
