Some decent action in Letshego (295t) and Sefalana (1364t) were the standouts on an active day in Botswana.
Kenyan turnover yet again beat Nigerian turnover. This was mostly thanks to some heavy local trading in Safcom (+1.5%, KES16.50) as the telco continues to drive higher. The banks followed suit with KNCB gaining 60bps to KES41.00 while Equity Bank rose by 1.8% to KES42.00. EABL also gained slightly to KES277.00.
A much better day in Port Louis as turnover increased to $1.7m thanks to some action in MCBG as 251k shares traded in the name while the rest of the market was rather quiet.
Yet another dismal day in Lagos as interest in the market remains at all-time lows. There was absolutely zero direction as all 3 of the Index (-6bps), Banks (-6bps) and Consumers (-1bp) didn't display any strong sentiment. The only action in the day was some crosses in Dangcem (unch, N162.00).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another excruciatingly slow day in Harare with turnover amounting to a paltry $44k.
