There was some solid activity in Sefalana (434k shares) and BIHL (273k shares) that helped boost activity with nothing much else on the go.
Not much on the go in Nairobi as locals dominated proceedings with turnover amounting to $3.4m. KNCB completely dominated the action today as 4.9m shares traded with the buyers being local while the sellers were foreign. Unfortunately the rest of the market was very quiet and there is not much to report.
A better day in terms of activity but turnover once again failed to break the $1m mark. There was some small activity in MCBG as 102k shares changed hands in the name while the rest of the market was rather quiet.
A couple of crosses yet again livened up another dull session. As expected after yesterday’s MPC announcements we saw some positive reaction in the banks (+1.05%) although it wasn’t just green numbers across the board. The main action was led by GTB (+4.71%, N21.99) followed by Zenith (-50bps, N15.90). Consumers ended the day broadly unchanged with some crossing in NB (+85bps, N116.70). The rest of the market was quiet.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some small activity in Econet the only name worth mentioning while the rest of the market remains dull.
