Activity returned to the BSE today on the back of crossing in the likes of Letshego (275t), Sechaba (2800t) and Sefalana (910t).
A pretty uneventful day with activity split 50% between foreign and local participants. The most active stock was EABl which saw some chunky foreign crossing while the name fell slightly to KES 270.00. There was also some action in Equity Bank (KES 51.00) and Safcom (KES 12.45) with Safcom buying continuing. KNCB was rather quiet while nothing else of major importance to report on.
Nothing of serious interest to note today in Port Louis. MCBG slipped by 24bps to Rs209.50 while SBM closed unchanged at Rs1.04.
A very dull day on the NSE with hardly anything happening. There were crosses in NB, ETI and DangCem but outside of this it was like watching the paint dry. Banks continue their bullish run as the sector rose by 1.32% with most of the names closing in the green. The biggest outperformer was ETI which gained 4.68% to N19.00 while Diamond Bank, UBA and Zenith were also strong. Consumers gained a solid 66bps led by Guinness (+8.37%, N192.90) and NB (+60bps, N169.00). DangCem saw some activity as it closed marginally higher at N213.00.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some mild activity returned today in Harare. The bulk of the activity took place in Econet (78c), Delta (125c) and Innscor (67c).
