Movers & Shakers: October 26, 2015

Botswana: DCI -0.01%. USD 57k

Nothing to report from Gaborone with total turnover amounting to $57k.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.41%, USD 2m

A dire start to the week in Nairobi with turnover amounting to a very unimpressive $2m. Apart from some small activity in Safcom (4.2m shares) and KNCB (1.13m shares) there is nothing much to report. ARM released Q3 2015 results with the name closing unchanged at KES 37.00.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.38%, USD 800k

Activity failed to break the $1m mark yet again in Port Louis with turnover amounting to $800k. There was some action in MCBG as 71k shares changed hands while the rest of the market was very dull.

Nigeria: ASI -0.61%, USD 26.2m

A solid start to the week from an activity point of view in Lagos as turnover amounted to $26.2m. This should however be taken with a pinch of salt as a large book over in Zenith ($15.9m) drove proceedings while there were also a few crosses in WAPCO ($5m). Elsewhere there was also some activity in FBNH ($1.1m) while the rest of the market was very dull. Banks (-0.61%) closed the day lower with FBNH (-3.04%) and UBA (-1.98%) dragging the sector lower. Losses in GSK (-4.95%) and NB (-1.47%) were a drag on consumers as the sector fell -0.64%.

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.18%, USD 71k

Another dire start to the week in Harare with turnover amounting to a paltry $71k.
