A brilliant day in Gaborone with Letshego ($1.64m) being the lion’s share with 44% of the market turnover. NAP ($721k), Engen ($401k), BIHL ($417k) and Primetime ($186k) the other counters worth mentioning on a good all round at the bourse.

Kenya: NSE 20 -2.10%, USD 16.2m

Safcom shed 1.00% on high volumes to close the day almost 80% of total market turnover showing some weakness towards the end of the session. Other counters to mention are Bamburi (-2.7%, KES180.00) and Equity (-0.6%, KES40.00). Once again foreigners leading the way with 91.2% of the market sales and 57.3% on the buy side.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.44%, USD 600k

A below average day to start the week in Port Louis with a cross in IBL (Rs4.5m) with 95k shares exchanging hands. The banking heavy weights MCBG (-0.1%, Rs269.75) and SBMH (-0.3%, Rs7.86) closed lower.
