An impressive day in Gaborone today with activity heavily focused on Letshego ($2m) and Engen ($2m) both accounting for 92% of turnover.
A slight improvement on the Kenya stock exchange today as Equity (+0.64%, KES39.25), Safcom (+2.02%, KES25.25), Kenol (+3.79%, KES16.45) and Diamond (unch, KES177.00) all closed relatively firm. The market turnover was down 28.4% as foreign investors did the bulk selling with 74.7% of total market turnover
MCBG (+0.1%, Rs269.50) once again leading the way on the Mauritius bourse contributing to more than 40% of market turnover. SBMH (+0.3%, Rs7.74), Accenscia (-1.3%, Rs11.30) and Lux Island Resorts (unch, Rs57.50) the only other stocks worth mentioning.
A relatively quiet trading session until just before the close with a cross of 1.865m Nestle shares at N1220 (foreign buyer and local seller) accounting for 60% of turnover. Dangcem (+4.7%) and Guinness (+10.2%) helped the Industrials (+2.88%) and Consumers (+1%) close higher on the day as all other indices were down.

The index clipped higher again today with local investors continuing to dominate the turnover charts. The main action today took place in Simbisa ($696m), Econet ($192k) and Delta ($111k).
