Botswana: DCI unch, USD 204k

Nothing of note to report in Gaborone as the market remains dull.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.05%, USD 5.1m

Another quiet day in Nairobi as locals remain on the sidelines. The bulk of today's action was a foreign cross in Barclays (unch, KES12.95). In normal trading we saw some mild activity take place in EABL (KES298.00) and Equity Bank (KES45.25). Both names were strong.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.24%, USD 1.82m

Activity was evenly divided between MCBG (unch, Rs210.00), SBMH (-1.2%, Rs0.85) and NMH (unch, Rs18.50). The rest of the market was quiet.

Nigeria: ASI -0.17%, USD 15.5m

The market began the session on the back foot but it did improve during the day although most of this was thanks to Dangcem which rose by 1.19% to N165.00 by the close. Banks fell by a further 2.19% during a wild day in which we saw some massive swings. The most active names were Zenith (-24bps, N16.92) and GTB (-1.20%, N23.00). Consumers gained 1.30% today thanks to a late rally in the likes of Nestle (+2.24%, N820.00) and NB (+67bps, N124.00). In the cements, outsider of Dangcem we saw some decent trading in Wapco (+1.00%, N97.00).

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.08%, USD 327k

A dull session in Harare with nothing notable to report on.
