A decent end to another active week in Kenya. The bulk of the action went through in a couple of crosses with KNCB (-1.4%, KES35.00) leading the way. Safcom (+50bps, KES18.70) had another active day with aggressive foreign buying pushing the stock ever higher. EABL fell by 70bps to KES300 on the back of some foreign selling. The rest of the market was relatively dull.
Some nice activity took place in MCBG (unch, Rs213.00) while the rest of the market was uneventful.
The rally after Wednesday’s announcement continued today with banks (+1.74%) and consumers (+2.60%) both strong. The banks saw some decent volume as foreign participants joined in the fun today. The most active names were GTB (+4.6%, N21.61), Zenith (+36bps, N16.65), UBA (+2.35%, N4.80) and FBNH (+4.52%, N4.39).
