Botswana: DCI +0.05%, USD 32.69k

Another dull day in Gaborone seeing the domestic index retreating on low volumes. BIHL ($27k) was the main mover accounting for 83% of today’s turnover.

Kenya: NSE 20 +1.0%, USD6.4m

The positive trend in Kenya continued as turnover increased by 18%. SAFCOM, COOP, EABL and EQBNK dominated the market turnover as all four accounted for approximately 80% of turnover. This positive run comes on the back of the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the election results yesterday. This seems to have added a bit of positive sentiment into the market as we expect to see some stability.

Forte Oil continues its heavy sell-off as investors react to its removal from the MSCI Frontier Market Index.

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
