Nothing much to report on from Gaborone barring some small action in Sefalana (1277t).
Another muted day in Kenya. The main focus was in the banks where both KNCB and Equity Bank were slightly strong closing at KES46.50 and KES47.50 respectively. Outside of these there was some mild action in Safcom which fell to KES14.95.
Activity returned to the Port Louis bourse today. As always the bulk of this was focused on the 2 major banks - MCBG fell by 40bps to Rs209.00 while SBMH closed unchanged at Rs0.85. There was also some chunky trading in IBL (-2.2%, Rs112.00).
The market just seems to be even quieter each day. The banks did in fact gain 1.53% although outside of GTB (+2.17%, N24.01) and FBNH (-2.16%, N6.34) the sector was quiet. The consumers closed down 40bps on small volumes across the board. The rest of the market had nothing to write home about.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some activity returned to the market today with the main large cap names seeing any action being Econet (27.5c) and Seedco (100c).
