The market was completely dead.
A much better day in Nairobi as foreigners dominated proceedings with turnover amounting to $13.2m. Foreign demand drove Safcom +1.3% higher as 33.85m shares traded in the telco thanks to a few crosses. Foreigners dominated both sides of EQBNK as the name managed to gain +1.8% on 3.26m shares while KNCB losed unchanged on 2.33m shares. Foreigners dominated proceedings in the usually illiquid KenolKobil as 7.2m shares traded.
Indices continue to close in the green, as MCBG, Terra and SBM account 82.1% of total market turnover. MCBG closed 0.2% up at Rs206.50 on the back of 180k shares traded. MCBGs banking counterpart SBM closed at Rs1.00 after trading 4.1m shares at those levels while Terra closed up by 3.3% at Rs31.50.
Some late crossing lit up a generally quiet day in Nigeria. The banks had yet another strong day as they gained 1.20% as most names closed in the green. The exception was UBA which fell by 2.4% to N3.66 while there were solid gains for GTB (+2.2%, N23.20), FBNH (+2.5%, N7.80) and ETI (+1.85%, N16.50). Consumers fell by a modest 30bps although outside of UACN (+5%, N38.84) the sector was extremely dull.

A quiet day as thin trades in Delta, Ok Zim and TSL steered proceedings. Delta exchanged 116k shares to close at 116c. OK Zim ($302K) accounted the bulk of turnover, closing the day off at 14c on the back of 2.1m shares traded, while TSL closed flat at 25c.
