A scarily quiet day to start the week in Nairobi as a total lack of interest pushed the market lower on tiny volumes. The only stock that saw a modicum of interest was EABL which closed down 40bps at KES268.00.
Apart from some small activity in MCBG (63k shares) there was nothing much to report on a rather quiet start to the week in Port Louis.
Another absolutely pathetic day in Lagos. In fact, the most exciting talk of the town was Skye Bank which rallied by 10% to N0.66 as the bank tries to recover after the battering it has received in recent weeks. The banks closed down 30bps in total although volumes extremely quiet. Trading in the consumers (-42bps) were also practically non-existent.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another quiet start to the week in Harare with some activity in Fidelity Life Assurance ($364k) the only name worth mentioning.
