A mostly quiet day in Gaborone with just some mild activity in Letshego (255t) and RDCP (202t).
A good day in Egypt as the market gained 0.04% to close at 9627 points on average volumes of EGP826 million. OTMT was unchanged for the day, leading the market volumes with 54 million shares changing hands. ESRS gained 1% after lagging in the market in the last couple of sessions and managed to trade four-times the average turnover. EAST (+0.13%) to invest EGP100 million in Suez Canal certificates over two tranches, EGP50 million each. SUGR (+12.44%) awaits shareholders update on the board's delisting decision. Institutional investors were 31% of market participation, while foreign institutions ended the day as net buyers worth EGP35 million.
A better day in Nairobi from an activity point of view with value traded amounting to $7.4m with the split pretty evenly balanced between locals and foreigners. Safcom (+1.5%) continued to gain on foreign purchases as 12.3m shares changed hands in the telco. Local investor demand pushed NMG (+0.3%) higher while foreigners were net sellers in the name. The two major banking stocks ended mixed with EQBNK falling -0.5% while KNCB gained +0.9%. The Central Bank kept rates unchanged at 8.5%.
The Sem-7 fell by 37bps in todays session in Port Louis. The weakness was on the back of falls in MCBG (-36bps, Rs208), SBM (-94bps, Rs1.05) and Ciel (-28bps, Rs7.00).
Activity slowed down dramatically in Lagos today with turnover amounting to $15.1m with the key drivers coming in the form of IntBrew ($1.79m), GTB ($1.65m), Transcorp ($1.59m) and NB ($1.57m). Banks closed slightly lower with the Index falling -0.05% with UBA (-2.57%), FBNH (-2.47%) and Zenith (-1.67%) dragging the sector lower. Consumers (-0.09%) also closed lower with weakness in Cadbury (-4.98%) and Dangote Sugar (-2.12%).

Activity returned to the Harare bourse today while aggressive buyers in the large caps pushed the names higher. Delta was the most active name accounting for more than 60% of the volume as an aggressive buyer pushed the stock up to 140.01c. Econet rose to 77.5c on decent volumes while Innscor also saw some decent volume as it closed unchanged at 75.5c. There was also some mild activity in BAT (1350c).
