Another active day in Gaborone with value traded amounting to USD 1.05m thanks to Letshego (2m shares), Turnstar (1.06m shares) and Choppies (381k shares).
The Egyptian market is on the rise again, with the real estate sector regaining its bullish momentum to drive the market higher. The EGX30 gained 1.61% to close at 9729 points on higher-than-average volumes of USD 125m. MNHD, TMGH, and HELI rallied on aggressive appetite, ending the day 10%, 0.18%, and 6.04% higher on decent market volumes. COMI (2.74%) led volumes with 1.6 million shares changing hands, reaching a new high of EGP50.00/share. Institutional investors were 44.86% of market participation, while foreign institutions ended the day as net buyers worth EGP169 million.
Another rather solid day in Nairobi from an activity point of view with turnover amounting to $9.5m. EQBNK (+5.8%) had a very good day from both a performance and activity point of view as local demand drove the name higher on 2.95m shares. Foreign buying (71.1%) drove Safcom +0.8% higher as 6.2m shares changed hands in the telco. KNCB was also rather active as local investors dominated proceedings in the name.
The Port Louis bourse continues to chug along at a decent rate. The only movers in the Sem-7 were Alteo (+1.39%, Rs36.50) and ENL Land (-50bps, Rs50.00) while activity was focused on MCBG (unch, Rs208.75) and SBM (unch, Rs1.04).
An extremely dull day in Lagos as turnover fell to $16.8m with some activity in the likes of Zenith ($2.55m), GTB ($1.94m), Nestle ($1.65m) and NB ($1.41m). Banks closed the day slightly lower with the Index falling -0.06% with ETI (-1.20%), FBNH (-0.48%) and GTB (-0.45%) dragging the sector lower while Zenith managed to gain +1.44%. Consumers (+0.87%) had a relatively strong day with Guinness (+3.44%), Dangote Sugar (+1.83%) and NB (+0.97%) being amongst the best performers.

Another rather uneventful day in Harare. The bulk of the action took place in Delta (129c), Innscor (72c) and Econet (77c).
