Nothing to report in Gaborone today.
The market managed to keep up the bullish momentum leaving the EGX30 up 0.67% to 8080.48 points. Volumes were slightly weaker than average turnover, with shares worth USD 116m changing hands. The market managed to continue to trade in the greens lead by local and international institutions, which targeted HRHO, TMGH, and EKHO causing each to end the day up 2.97%, 2.26%, and 0.98% respectively. Local retail ended the day as net sellers. MEPA, AMER, and AIND witnessed selling pressure, leaving each to end the day down 2.19%, 1.18%, and 1.36% respectively.
It was a very active day in Nairobi today as value traded amounted to $11.4m with foreigners accounting for 48.8% of total activity. KNCB accounted for 44% of total turnover as 9.11m shares traded with foreigners dominating purchases while locals accounted for all of the sales. Safcom was relatively active as 11.27m shares traded in the telco with foreign demand driving the name 0.8% higher. A foreign cross in ARML boosted activity in the usually illiquid stock. KNRE was also surprisingly active with two large crosses in the name as a total of 2.74m shares traded.
A generally uninspiring day in Port Louis as the index continues to move sideways. In the Sem-7, there were gains for MCBG (+12bps, Rs215.50), Alteo (+1.12%, Rs36) and Terra (+27bps, Rs37.60). The only faller was NMH which slipped by 1.69% to Rs87.50.
After a dull start the market got going towards the close with a number of crosses. Banks rose by 44bps for the day led by a strong gain in Access (+4.98%, N8.22). The rest of the sector was mixed while there were notable crosses in Zenith, GTB and FBNH. Consumers were broadly unchanged with very little action taking place outside of NB (+67bps, N149.99). Oando saw some nice trading as the stock gained 1.65% to N16.00.

A large cross in Delta ($2.97m) helped boost turnover to a very respectable $4.31m. There was also some decent activity in the likes of Econet ($383k), ZPI ($288k) and Innscor ($204k). The market unfortunately closed the day lower with the Industrial Index falling -1.54%.
