A decent day in Gaborone thanks to some action in Letshego and FNBB as 2.4m shares and 1.3m shares changed hands in the names respectively.
Foreign block trades yet again dominated the landscape. The major crossing took place in EABL which saw almost $3m change hands at the unahcnged level of KES275. There was also some decent action in the likes of Equity Bank (unch, KES41.50) and Safcom (+1.6%, KES15.95).
Another rather average day in Port Louis with MCBG being the most active stock this time around as 115k shares traded in the counter while the usually illiquid PBL (22k shares) saw some action.
A pleasing return to some decent activity in Lagos for a change with both some foreign and local activity present. As soon as the market opened there was a large local/local cross in Dangcem (done at +10%!) but the name eventually settled at N170.72 (-25bps). Banks continue their retreat as the sector fell by a further 2.86% today. Activity was again led by Zenith (-6.15%, N14.35) and GTB (-3.52%, N18.90). Consumers fell by 18bps with chunky crosses going through in Unilever (+8.33%, N45.50) and NB-2.16%, N113.00).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A much better day in Harare in terms of activity as turnover increased to $2.4m thanks to a few crosses in Delta ($1.5m), Econet ($546k) and Seedco ($285k).
