Movers & Shakers: December 21, 2015

Botswana: DCI +0.02%, USD 2.21m

Another active day in Botswana with crosses going through in FNBB (382t) and Sechaba (3000t). There was also some decent action in Choppies.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.47%, USD 6.4m

Right on the open we witnessed another massive local-local cross in Equity Bank (this time at the KES42.25 level). Outside of this the market was painfully quiet. There was also some action in Safcom (unch, KES16.70) while the rest of the market was uneventful.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.01%, USD 610k

An expectedly dull start to the week in Port Louis. There was some action in MCBG (+40bps, Rs208.00) but that was about it.

Nigeria: ASI +0.72%, USD 11.9m

The ASI had a solid day thanks to the banks rising by 2.36% although volumes remain light outside of the odd cross. The banks were very quiet with only GTB (+4.99%, N20.00) seeing any decent action. The consumers fell by 45bps although the sector was eerily quiet until a late cross in Nestle (-1.25%, N790.00). The rest of the market was quiet.

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.81%, USD 117k

Another woefully dull day in Harare.
