Botswana: : DCI -0.03%, USD 348k

Not much on the go in Gabarone with value traded amounting to USD 348k with some mild activity in Barclays (500k shares).

Egypt: EGX 30 +0.15%, USD 79m

A weak session ended the week in Egypt today as the market lacked a catalyst, leaving the EGX30 up 0.15% to close at 8,093.75 points trading low volumes of USD 79m. PHD (+0.25%) plans to invest EGP1 billion in projects this year, and is in final negotiations with AAIB to secure a EGP2.4 billion loan, which is expected to be sealed by the third week of July, announced the Co-CEO. CCAP (+1.35%) sold Sphinx Glass at a total value of USD114.2 million. Local institutions ended the day as net sellers worth EGP69.9 million, with COMI (-0.79%), GTHE (-0.78%), TMGH (-0.71%), and ETEL (-0.68%) all down. High-beta names ended the day on a positive note, with OTMT (+0.85%), AMER (+1.57%), PIOH (+0.74%), and ACGC (+1.82%) riding.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.22%, USD 10.3m

Local investors continue to be more dominant in Kenya. A large cross in BATK (both sides local) took place on the open as the name rose by 4.8% to KES679. Safcom was the main player today though and shed another 1.20% to KES12.40. The banks were much quieter with Equity Bank rising by another 60bps to KES45.00.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.03%, USD 1.4m

Activity slowed down in Port Louis today as value traded amounted to USD 1.4m with SBM (23.25m shares) accounting for over 50% of turnover. Things were quiet in MCBG and NMH as 23k shares and 13k shares traded in the names respectively.

Nigeria: ASI -0.61%, USD 21.1m

A very dull day in Lagos with local action in Oando and Transcor the main focus today. Oando lost 9.71% to N27.43 on big volumes as profit takers continue to aggressively sell the stock. Transcor was also very active and shed 9.5% to N4.73. In normal trading the banks lost a little bit of ground although most names were slightly soft. Focus remains on the Tier 1 names. Consumers gained marginally with Guinness (+5%, N189.21) leading the way. Nestle saw reasonable activity (unch, N1050).

Another dull day in Harare with value traded amounting to USD 439k with Innscor ($274k) the most active name.
