Nothing exceptional to report from the Botswana bourse.
Nothing special or big to note from the Nairobi Stock Exchange today with activity once again dominated by the big stocks. Interesting though, foreign participation was markedly reduced. The 2 most active stocks were once again EABL (-40bps, KES240.00) and Safcom (-1.8%, KES19.35) while both banks ended the day unchanged at KES28.50 (KNCB) and KES30.00 (Equity Bank) respectively.
A couple of nice crosses livened up the session in Port Louis. About half the total turnover went through in MCBG (-10bps, Rs214.00) while we also saw some decent activity in the normally very illiquid United Basalt Products (-1.0%, Rs96.00).
A dull day in Nigeria with nothing of real note to write home about. The banking sector ended the day up 36bps although the sector was unbelievably dead. Consumers drifted lower (-51bps) although the sector was also brutally quiet. The major action was some local action on Mobil (-5%, N307.15).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
The market continues to impress in Harare thanks to a cross in Econet ($1.2m), while there was also some activity in Seedco ($426k).
