Nothing to report from Gaborone today.
Another chunky day in Nairobi although trading activity was heavily dominated by locals. The bulk of the action (as usual) went through in Safcom (local buying/foreign selling) as the telco closed up 30bps at KES18.45. There was also a decent local cross in BRIT (unch, KES10.00). Locals also participated heavily in both Co-op Bank (+1.6%, KES12.50) and Barclays (+4.1%, KES8.80).
Another dull day in Lagos as sentiment across the board remains soft. We saw some renewed trading activity in the Consumers (-1.62%) with Nestle (-3.34%, N624.40) and NB (-98bps, N128.73) both touching 4 year lows during the session. Banks dropped by 43bps although outside of Zenith (+7bps, N15.01) the sector was quiet.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A much better day in Harare on the activity front thanks to some action in Delta ($659k) and Econet ($315k).
