Some decent action today in Gaborone with some crosses in the likes of Primetime (314t), RDCP (270t) and Letshego (215t) leading the way.
A better day in Nairobi thanks once again to Safcom ($1.7m) as the telco closed the day unchanged. There was also finally some activity in EQBNK ($1.7m) thanks to a few foreign crosses in the name while banking counterpart KNCB was dead quiet. The usually illiquid KenGen ($643k) saw some activity for a change.
MCBG continues to push higher as it touched yet another all-time high (+40bps, Rs228.00). The bank also dominated trading turnover while the rest of the market remains quiet.
A better day in Lagos on the activity front, but still nothing to write home about, thanks to some action in PRESCO ($5.1m) while there was also some activity in NB ($1.6m) after the brewer released FY 2016 results. The rest of the market was dead quiet. Consumers had a good day with the sector closing +1.52% higher thanks to NB (+4.33%) as the market was seemingly happy with the brewers results. Banks closed the day -0.56% lower on tiny volume.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another day, and another day of softness on the ZSE. Sentiment really is poor for the market and if it wasn’t for some mild activity in Delta (80.5c) then today would really have been pointless.
