Movers & Shakers: February 13, 2017

Botswana: Data not available.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.60%, USD 3.2m

A painfully slow start to the week with Safcom (-0.5%) the most active name on the day yet again. There was a small bit of activity in EABL as 251k shares changed hands while the two major banking stocks were dead quiet.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.01%, USD 840k

Nothing remarkable to note from the Semdex today. As usual, the lion’s share of trading action went through in MCBG (unch, Rs225.00).

Nigeria: ASI -0.38%, USD 4.3m

GTB ($2m) saved the market from complete embarrassment on the activity front as the bank was the only name to show any form of life. Banking stocks (+0.31%) managed to closed the day higher thanks to GTB (+1.0%) while consumers (-2.31%) closed lower on tiny volume.

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.

Zimbabwe: Industrials unch, USD 21k

Absolutely nothing to report from Harare.
