A much better day in Gaborone with value traded amounting to USD 1.45m thanks to crosses in Letshego (3.44m shares) and Sefalana (500k shares).
Another dull day in Nairobi with turnover amounting to $5.7m (61.4%) as locals continue to dominate proceedings. Foreigners (96.1%) were behind the selling pressure in EQBNK as the name fell -0.5% on 3.27m shares while they were the majority buyers (68.6%) in KNCB as the counter managed to gain 0.9%. A local cross in ARML helped boost activity somewhat as 465k shares traded. Kenya Re shed 1.1% with investors showing disappointment in management’s new strategy which led investment income to rise 9%y/y after recording a 25%y/y rise for a similar period last year.
Not much on the go in Lagos as the week ended off on a rather somber note with turnover amounting to $16.28m. There was some action in the likes of Zenith ($2.18m), Transcorp ($2.15m), GTB ($2.09m) and Access ($1.99m). Banks (-0.70%) continued to come under pressure with UBA (-3.36%) and Zenith (-1.04%) being the major drags on the sector. Consumers (-0.04%) closed slightly lower with Flour Mills (-3.49%) being the worst hit.

Another solid day in Harare from an activity point of view with turnover amounting to $2.37m with crosses in Econet ($817k), Innscor ($550k), Delta ($429k) and OK Zim ($244k) driving proceedings. The market closed lower with the Industrial Index falling -0.27%.
