Decent day in Gaborone with value traded amounting to USD 866k with a cross in FNBB accounting for 93% of turnover.
The Egyptian market fell today continuing yesterday's quick profit-taking at the end of the session. The index failed to breach 9.5k, with the EGX losing 0.68% to close at 9373 points on average volumes of USD 104m. Stocks are in the red with minor exceptions namely GTHE (+5.02%) as it was left lagging behind & currently witnessing tech breakthrough breaching the EGP5.25/share on 3x the average daily volume to last print EGP5.44/share. The real estate sector seen some selling pressure today following the recent hike, HELI down 4.16%, TMGH 0.57%, OCDI 1.01%, PHDC 1.79%, and MNHD 3.24%. Foreigners ended the day as net buyers worth EGP86 million, accounting for 12.94% of market participation.
A much better day in Nairobi with turnover amounting to $9.9m thanks to local activity in KenolKobil ($3.09m) after they released H1 2014 results which saw PAT increase 260.4% and hit a two month high (intra-day) of KES 9.05. Foreigners dominated activity in Safcom as the telco closed -0.4% lower on 20.89m shares. CFC Stanbic was rather active thanks to local particiaption with 601k shares traded. KNCB managed to gain +0.9% on foreign demand while EQBNK fell -0.5%.
A very solid day in Port louis as value traded amounted to USD 2.25m thanks to some action in MCBG (91k shares), Lottotech (889k shares), Vivo Energy (7.48m) and UBP (59k shares). SBM was unfortunately rather quiet with 4.04m shares changing hands.
It was a better day in Lagos with turnover amounting to $20.1m but this should howver be taken with a pinch of salt as one cross in Nestle ($7.88m) dominated proceedings. There was some activity in GTB ($1.83m), NB (1.28m), Access ($1.21m) and Zenith ($1.20m). Banks closed lower with the Index falling -0.16% with GTB (-2.10%) being a major drag on the sector after releasing dissapointing H1 2014 numbers while ETI (-1.19%) also came under pressure. Consumers (-0.17%) also closed lower with poor showings from Dangote Sugar (-1.48%) and Nestle (-1.37%).

Another decent day in Harare with turnover amounting to USD 1.13m thanks mostly to Delta ($709k) while the rest of the market was rather quiet. The market closed the day lower with the Industrial Index falling -0.11%.
