Crosses in the likes of FNBB (1.5m shares) and Letshego (757k shares) drove activity as turnover amounted to USD 850k.
It was a surprisingly active day as turnover amounted to a very pleasing $12.2m with activity evenly spread between locals and foreigners. Foreigners completely dominated activity in Safcom as 30.15m shares traded in the telco with the name closing flat at KES 12.75. Robust activity continued in KenolKobil after they released results yesterday with 35.29m shares traded thanks to local investors. Foreign sales (97.9%) drove EABL -0.7% lower as 393k shares traded in the brewer.
A few chunky crosses in MCBG helped boost turnover today as a total of 220k shares traded in the name with total market turnover amounting to USD 2.79m. There was also some decent activity in SBM (9.37m shares) and Lottotech (437k shares).
An absolutely dire day to end the week in Lagos with value traded amounting to a paltry $9.09m. There was some activity in Access ($1.39m) and GTB ($1.08m) with no other names breaking the $1m mark. Banks came under some pressure with the Index falling (-1.01%) thanks to GTB (-1.21%) and Access (-1.13%). Consumers (-0.71%) also closed lower with NB (-1.91%) being the biggest drag on the sector.

Atlas Mara closed its acquisition of BancABC and ADC today, following which Atlas Mara has acquired a beneficial interest of 95.84% in BancABC, representing a 58.09% direct interest and a 37.75% indirect interest through ADC. Turnover amounted to an astonishing $40.12m as a result of this Atlas Mara transaction. There was some small activity in DZL ($559k) and Delta ($401k). The market closed the day higher with the Industrial Index gaining +0.19%.
