Nothing much to note from a generally lackluster day.
Yet another rather dull day in Kenya with just Safcom keeping the lights on. The telco rose by 26bps to KES19.60 and accounted for more than 60% of the total market turnover. There was nothing else worth writing home about.
A quiet day in Port Louis. The usual suspects were all quiet with only Ciel (unch, Rs48.00) seeing any action.
Once again it was all about the banks with foreign buying (and local selling) in the Tier 1 names most evident. The sector gained 1.45% with GTB (unch, N27.00) and Zenith (+1.62%, N15.70) both seeing some decent crossing. The consumers inched slightly higher albeit on small volumes.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Once again local investors heavily dominant on the ZSE. Today was the turn of Nicoz Diamonds and BAT with most other names painfully dull.
