Once again local trading dominated the bourse with today being the turn of Sefalana.
Some action but nothing overly exciting in Kenya today. Overall it feels like the market is still digesting some of the results that we have seen come out this week. As usual, the most active stock was Safcom which closed at KES20.25 (-1.22%). There was also some action in the normally illiquid KNRE and Jubilee.
Another rather active day in Port Louis. The most significant move was MCBG which rose by another 2.1% and is at yet another all-time high or Rs245.00. The banking group released 2017 Q3 results today. There was also some action in SBMH (-30bps, Rs7.60) and CIM (unch, Rs8.96).
The Nigerian bourse finally retreated today after a strong week although it was only slightly soft. Both Banks (+12bps) and Consumers (+3.20%) closed in the green but large cap DangCem (-4.79%, N165.00) dragged the ASI lower. Activity was fairly chunky in many names, with heavy action in the likes of FBNH (-2.20%, N4.01), GTB (+1.52%, N30.00), Zenith Bank (-28bps, N18.13), DangCem (-4.79%, N165.00) and NB (+4.33%, N149.00).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some small activity in Zimplow ($225k) the only name worth mentioning as the rest of the market was dead quiet.
