Another slow day in Gaborone.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.60%, USD 7.9m

Activity slowed down in Nairobi today, but it was still relatively decent with some foreign driven action in Safcom ($3.9m) leading the way as the telco closed +1.3% higher. There was finally some action in EABL ($1.1m) as the brewer closed +1.3% higher on local demand. Elsewhere, the other big names were rather quiet.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.08%, USD 2.3m

A very spicy day in Port Louis. Action was diversified across a number of names. Top traders included MCBG (+40bps, Rs241.00), ENL Land (+10bps, Rs49.50), Attitude Property (+2.0%, Rs17.70) and CIM Financial Services (+90bps, Rs9.00).

Nigeria: ASI +0.72%, USD 29m

The renewed foreign interest in the Nigerian market continued today with some solid action in Seplat ($10.6m), NB ($5.1m), Zenith ($3.5m), Nestle ($2.1m) and DangCem ($2m). Banks continued on their latest run with the sector closing +3.22% higher thanks to UBA (+7.85%) and Zenith (+5.09%). Consumers (-0.57%) closed the day lower with some pressure on NB (-1.86%) dragging the sector lower.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +1.03%, USD 2.3m

Another impressively active day in Zimbabwe with Econet (unch, 21c) leading the way yet again.
