An impressive day in Gaborone thanks to crosses in FNBB and Letshego as 3m shares and 1.7m shares changed hands in the names respectively.
Another solid day in Nairobi thanks as per usual to Safcom ($2.3m) as the telco closed +0.3% higher on the back of foreign demand. There was another big cross in Stanbic ($1.6m) with the buyer being foreign as the name closed unchanged. EABL ($922k) tried to spring to life today, while the rest of the market was quiet.
Another quiet day in Port Louis with some small activity in MCBG the only name worth mentioning as 49k shares traded.
From bad to worse in Lagos on the activity front with Zenith ($1.5m) the only name breaking the $1m mark. Banking stocks closed the day +0.84% higher thanks to FBNH (+7.74%), GTB (+1.35%) and Zenith (+0.69%) while consumers also closed +0.84% higher on low volume.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Nothing to report from Harare after the extended break.
