Choppies (306t) once again hogged the limelight with most other names eerily quiet again.
A couple of crosses once again lit up the market. The main highlights took place in EABL (+40bps, KES283.00) and Safcom (-1.2%, KES20.00). There was mild activity in Equity Bank (+1.7%, KES30.25).
MCBG (unch, Rs223.00) once again dominated the trading volumes in Mauritius. There was also action in Ciel (unch, Rs5.98) and SBMH (unch, Rs0.70).
Some crosses spiced up proceedings in Lagos although the market still seems to be lacking any specific direction. Today we saw activity focused on the consumers (+58bps) for a change. Leading the charge were Guinness (-4.80%, N76.00) and Nestle (+3.13%, N825.00). Banks gained 1.02% but were generally quiet.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Aggressive local buyers continue to push the market higher as volumes continue to try to return to the Harare bourse. Some nice action in Delta today as the name continues to drive higher (65c).
