Another dismal day in Nairobi as Safcom (-0.3%) continued to dominated what little activity there was as 6.1m shares chnaged hands in the telco. The rest of the market remains woefully quiet.
Things slowed down in Port Louis today with not much on the go in market heavyweights MCBG and SBMH as 2k shares and 55k shares changed hands in the names respectively.
A late cross in Unilever ($1.7m) saved the market from complete embarrassment as the lack of interest in the Lagos bourse continues. Banking stocks closed the day slightly higher with the sector gaining +0.08% while consumers closed +0.35% higher. There was a host of companies releasing results today with NB (unch), Unilever(+4.14%), DangCem (+0.48%) and Seplat (-3.85%) all reporting Q3 2016 numbers.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A very impressive day in Harare thanks to a few large crosses in Delta ($2.4m) while there was also some decent activity in Econet ($551k).
