Nothing to report from Botswana.
A quiet end to a quiet week with some profit taking evident on a few names. The major banks both retreated by 1.2% with Equity Bank finishing at KES40.25 and KNCB closing at KES42.00. There was also some action in Safcom (unch, KES16.75) while the rest of the market was dead.
A dull end to a dull week in Lagos. The market really doesn't have any direction and the lack of interest from foreign investors is rather palpable. The only real action today was in GTB (+1.20%, N14.30) although banks ended the day marginally in the red (-12bps). Consumers ended the day up 50bps although no stock in the sector barely registered.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Not a bad day to end the week, compared to what we have become accustomed to in Harare. There was some activity in Pearl Properties ($390k) and Zimre ($322k) while the rest of the market was very quiet.
