Absolutely nothing to report from the Botswana bourse today.
Another muted day of trading in Kenya. Yet again it was the banks that saw the lion's share of the trading action. KNCB closed unchanged at KES42.50 while Equity Bank gave back some of yesterday's gains to close at KES40.00 (-1.2%). Safcom (+30bps, KES16.75) saw some early action but was then dead for the rest of the day. The rest of the market was uneventful.
Crosses in names such as PAD (-60bps, Rs89.50) and MCBG (unch, Rs208.50) dominated proceedings in Port Louis today.
The market is really directionless as low volumes persist. Banks gained 85bps with some activity seen in GTB (+4.36%, N14.83) and Zenith (+92bps, N11.00). The consumers fell by 45bps although the sector was extremely quiet yet again.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Nothing much to report from Harare as the lack of interest across the board dragged the index lower.
