Some action in Choppies (410t) was the highlight of the day in Botswana.
Another generally lethargic day in Nairobi. There was some decent action in the banks with both of them seeing strong two-way flows from foreign investors. Equity Bank closed at KES40.50 (+60bps) while KNCB gained 1.2% to KES42.50. The rest of the market was extremely quiet.
A massive cross in the little traded Bayport Management ($6.7m) accounted for almost the entire trading volume on a generally quiet day.
Another quiet day in Nigeria with the lack of interest continuing. At least today we saw 1 chunky cross in GTB (+1.50%, N14.21) as the banks rebounded by 78bps. Outside of GTB the market was painfully quiet and we saw the consumers slip by 18bps on tiny volumes.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some activity returned to the ZSE today. The main highlights was some trading in NatFoods (210c) and Seedco (64.99c).
