Another decent day in Nairobi as foreigners dominated proceedings (77.8%) and turned net sellers for the first time in five sessions. KNCB managed to close the day higher on local demand as the name gained +0.6% on 3m shares. Activity slowed down in Safcom today as the telco continued with its strong run, closing +0.9% higher on 5.1m shares. EABL was once again very quiet.
A much better day in Port Louis thanks to a cross in Terra Mauricia as 864k shares changed hands in the name while there was also a bit of activity in MCBG as 43k shares traded.
From bad to worse in Lagos as turnover fell to $5.5m with GTB ($1.5m) the only name breaking the $1m mark. At least the session opened on time today. Banking stocks continued to gain with the sector closing +1.88% higher thanks to GTB (+2.93%) and Zenith (+2.43%). Consumers (+0.59%) were also stronger, albeit on tiny volume thanks to Dangote Sugar (+4.84%).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Not much on the go in Harare with some small activity in NatFoods ($252k) accounting for the bulk of turnover.
