A good day in Gaborone with BIHL ($2.47m) being the lion’s share with 95% of the market turnover and Choppies ($35k) the only counters worth mentioning on the bourse.
Nairobi stock exchange starting to pick up once again today split between a number of different counters with these names seeing some solid crosses. The major movers and shakers today being Safaricom (unch, KES26.75) almost half the market, EABL (-1.50%, KES263.00) and KCB (-0.55%, KES45.25). Foreign participation falling to 43% on the sell side and 36% on the buy side of total the market.
Things slowed down in Port Louis with indices closing in the red. Turnover was driven by MCBG (unch, Rs269) and SBMH (unch, Rs7.86) and SUN (+1.1, Rs44) which accounted for 53.6%.
A rather dull day in Lagos with no name managing to break the $1m turnover mark, some activity in GTB (+0.77%, $606) the only name worth mentioning. Banking stocks closed + 0.27%, while the consumer sector and the industrial sector shed -0.38% and -0.53% respectively.

A below par day in Harare with volumes headlined in the likes of Econet (47.21c, $226k), Delta (137.01c, $174k), PPC (72.56c, $163k) and Zimre (1.50c, $140k) accounting for over 82% of the market turnover, the rest of the market was fairly quiet.
