Letshego was the big mover of the day, after the counter traded 5.7m shares, closing at 239t.
A mammoth day in Nairobi thanks to some chunky foreign crosses in EABL. More than $8m changed hands in the brewer as the counter slipped by a further 1% to KES295.00. There were also some very big crosses in Centum (mostly local) as the name gained 1.7% to KES60.50. Safcom was also active and closed marginally higher at KES15.45. The 2 major banks were also fairly well traded and closed unchanged at KES59.00 (KNCB) and KES53.00 (EqBnk) respectively.
The Semdex closed at 2,009.11 points, shedding 0.20%. MCBG registered a closing price of Rs203.00 (-0.5%) after trading a total of 44k shares. SBM closed the session off at Rs1.01 on the back of 1.6m shares traded, while Rockcastle (the top performer of the day) closed at a record high of Rs2.60 (+4.0%) after 2k shares were exchanged in the name.
Another average day in Lagos as turnover amounted to $24.5m with some action in the likes of Zenith ($6.27m), NB ($2.98m), ETI ($2.90m), FBNH ($2.41m) and Access ($2.12m) driving proceedings. Banks came off the boil after a few days of rallying with the sector falling -0.48% as GTB (-4.21%) put a drag on the sector. Consumers (+0.40%) closed higher thanks to IntBrew (+5.24%) and Guinness (+3.28%).

An extremely quiet day in Harare as the index retreated by 46bps. Total value traded was concentrated towards Innscor (unch, 59c) and Meikles (unch, 13c), trading 170k and 209k shares respectively. Most of the blue chip counters registered thin trades, due to the absence of foreign participation.
