After an active day yesterday, activity took a nosedive with turnover amounting to a pitiful $5.6k.
An average day from an activity point of view with turnover amounting to $7.2m with locals dominating proceedings. Local demand drove EABL higher as the brewer gained +1.6% on 566k shares. Foreign buying pushed Safcom +1.0% higher as 6.76m shares changed hands in the telco. Not much on the go in KNCB and EQBNK as 836k shares and 819k shares traded in the names respectively. Co-op Bank shed 1.2% after the bank recorded a -10.9%y/y drop in EPS for FY 2014 results.
The downward trend continued on the bourse as all indices closed in the red. Turnover was mainly geared towards NMH and MCBG, although both counters closed down by 4.2% (Rs57.25) and 0.1% (Rs196.75) respectively. NMH traded a total of 266k shares, with MCBG trading a paltry 56k shares.
From bad to worse in Lagos as turnover failed to breach the $10m mark for the second time this week as total value traded amounted to $8.1m with some activity in GTB ($2.81m) the only name worth mentioning. Banks continued to slide with the sector falling -2.28% thanks to ETI (-4.99%), Zenith (-4.51%) and Access (-3.34%). Consumers (-0.93%) also closed lowet with Dangote Flour (-4.76%) taking some strain.

The significant increase in turnover was geared towards one counter, DAWN, as the counter carried the session by trading a mammoth 295m shares at a special bargain of 1.47c (counter closed the session flat at 1c). The rest of the market was quiet as the counters had an aggregate turnover of $200k.
