Turnover was mainly geared towards Sefalana. The stock traded a total of 538k shares mainly between the 1075t and 1100t levels.
There was a clear and utter lack of interest in Kenya with foreign activity also low and skewed to the sell side. There was some mild activity in Safcom (-30bps, KES15.85) and KNCB (unch, KES60.50). Equity Bank (-1.9%, KES51.00) and EABL (-30bps, KES324.00) were much quieter while the rest of the market was dull.
The index closed the week off at 1,955.90 points. MCBG lost 0.8% to close down at Rs195.00 after trading a total of 98k shares, whilst its banking competitor- SBM traded a colossal 4.1m shares closing down at Rs0.97(-1.0%).
A dire end to a dire week in Lagos. For most of the session it was like watching paint dry until some panic trading in the last half hour increased volumes. Banks closed marginally weak and volumes were low across the sector. The most active names were FBNH (-1.66%, N7.70), GTB (+4.09%, N22.90) and Zenith (-3%, N16.49). Conaumsers gained 1.08% for the day with the only volumes taking place in NB (+38bps, N131.50), Guinness (unch, N126) and Nestle (+3.69%, N829.50).

Turnover was mainly geared towards Econet (Unch, 52c), Delta (Unch, 109c) and Seedco (Unch, 106c). Counters traded a total of 316k, 93k and 118k shares respectively. Top gainers of the day were Innscor (+2.75%) and Old mutual (+0.84%), while BAT and MASH were amongst the losers, shedding 0.85% and 9.09% respectively.
