Things slowed down drastically in Gaborone as turnover amounted to $139k.
A very active day in Nairobi as turnover increased to $14.8m with locals dominating proceedings. EQBNK (+3.0%) had a strong day after releasing pleasing FY 2014 results which saw PAT increase +29% with foreigners dominating both sides of the name. StanChart was one of the day's more active names as local investors dominated proceedings with 542k shares changing hands. Local demand drove Safcom +1.3% higher as 8.94m shares changed hands in the telco. According to media reports, the telco has partnered with Vodafone 's subsidiary in Tanzania to enable transfer of funds between clients in Kenya and Tanzania through M-pesa. EABL closed +0.3% higher on local demand as 438k shares traded.
The index retreated by 0.06% closing at 1,995.41 points today. SBM managed to recoup yesterdays losses to close up at Rs1.00 (+1%) after trading a total of 625k shares. MCBG lost 0.5% to end the session at Rs201.00 after trading 12.5k shares.
Another rather average day in Lagos as turnover amounted to $26.5m which was skewed towards a few large crosses. Action in the likes of FBNH ($5.57m), GTB ($4.75m), Nestle ($4.43m) and Zenith ($4.05m) drove proceedings. Banks had another good day with the sector gaining +1.03% thanks to GTB (+4.04%) and Zenith (+1.64%). Consumers (+0.30%) also closed firmer thanks to Dangote Sugar (+3.82%) and Dangote Flour (+3.53%).

Notable movers of the day were Delta and Seedco, as the counters traded 300k and 125k shares respectively. There was selling pressure in Delta resulting in the name closing down at 110c (-2.22%), while increased buying interest in Seedco caused the name to close up at 106c (+0.47%). Thin volumes were seen in the rest of the market.
