A very solid day to end the week in Gaborone with crosses in the likes of Stanchart (610k shares), Sefalana (787k shares), Turnstar (2.49m shares) and Sechaba (161k shares) as total value traded amounted to USD 3.07m.
A very active day in Nairobi as turnover amounted to $18.7m as foreigners (60.2%) dominated proceedings. A foreign cross in Diamonf Trust Bank was once again the highlight of the day as 3.01m shares traded in the name. There was a local cross of 293k shares in BATK. CO-OP was rather active as locals looked to sell the name with 3.92m shares changing hands on the day. There was foreign demand (79.4%) in Safcom as 6.56m shares traded in the telco.
Softness was evidenced across most stocks today. The Sem-10 fell by 34bps on the back of weakness in SBMH (-94bps, Rs1.05), Alteo (-4.51%, Rs36) and BBCL (-30bps, Rs6.70). There were gains for ENL Land (+1%, Rs50.50), Ciel (+26bps, Rs7.62) and Gamma Civic (+2.46%, Rs50). MCBG closed unchanged at Rs212.50.
A very slow day in Lagos as turnover amounted to $16.3m. There was some action in the likes of Zenith ($2.74m), Oando ($1.53m), FBNH ($1.46m), UACN ($1.45m) and NB ($1.27m). Banks came under pressure once again with the Index falling -1.55% thanks to tier-1 banks Zenith (-3.02%), FBNH (-2.86%), UBA (-2.61%) and Access (-1.46%). Consumers (-0.02%) closed the day slightly lower with some pressure in IntBrew (-3.08%).

Another day of weakness in Harare with action almost entirely in Econet (78c), DZLH (10c) and Delta (125c).
