Absolutely nothing happened in Gaborone today.
An absolutely mammoth start to the week from an activity point of view as turnover amounted to $22.8m with locals dominating proceedings thanks to a large cross in Centum as 25.19m shares changed hands on the day. There was a large foreign cross in NSE as 5.39m shares traded in the name. Foreign demand continued to drive Safcom (+0.7%) as 6.08m shares traded in the telco. Foreigners accounted for 100% of purchases in EABL as the brewer closed 1.0% higher.
A quieter day than usual in Port Louis with the bulk of the action taking place in MCBG (unch, Rs203.75) while there was also some decent activity in Ciel (unch, Rs7.78). SBMH closed unchanged at Rs1.03.
A rather average start to the week from an activity point of view in Lagos as turnover amounted to $24.1m with some action in the likes of Stanbic ($7.11m), NB ($4.89), GTB ($2.13m) and WAPCO ($1.88m). Banks closed the day lower with the Index falling -1.01% thanks to UBA (-6.24%), FBNH (-4.52%) and Access (-1.18%). There was some profit taking in consumer stocks as the sector closed -1.59% lower with some weakness in Dangote Sugar (-4.88%), Guinness (-4.42%) and Nestle (-2.32%). Cements were under pressure with Dangcem and WAPCO closing -2.72% and -1.25% lower respectively.

A quiet start to the week in Harare. More than 90% of the market activity took place in Delta (113c) with all other names extremely quiet.
